As of July 1, 2005, it is illegal within the City of Chicago to drive a vehicle while using a cell phone.  Totally hands-free devices are available but are usually very expensive, and wired headsets are awkward and get tangled at the most inconvenient times, so many cell phone uses have chosen Bluetooth wireless audio headsets as an alternative to the costly hands free devices.  This session is designed to help you learn the ease of Bluetooth technology while configuring and using your  Bluetooth accessories.  And if you have a computing system, this session will present alternatives that will allow you to use Bluetooth technologies to sync your PDA to your calendar without using a USB cradle, transfer address books from your PC to your cell phone, and operate printers!

This session is designed to help you learn how to use a PDA, whether Palm OS based or Windows CE.  Device functionality will be stressed, as these devices aren't just Address Books anymore.  Data Syncing to your computing system or Internet-based address book or calendar is also addressed.

Tivo/DVR, and Transferring Video to PC & DVD
Understanding and Using your Tivo or DVR
The term "Tivo" has become synonymous with the act of recording a digital media event to a storage device, like a hard drive.  Just go and Tivo it!  But what does this really mean, hand how does Tivo compare to other manufacturers and providers of digital media, like Dish PVRs and DirectTivo? 
A WiseGuy technical representative will present a session that highlights the advancements in Digital Video Recorders and demonstrates via video the ease of use of these devices, while providing pricing, packaging, and feature comparisons between DVR/PVR manufacturers


Transferring your Tivo recordings to your PC and
Burning DVDs
OK, so you now have a Tivo DVR, and you have a full season of your favorite TV show recorded.  Yes, these recordings were easy to create, but now, how can you transfer them  so you can save them to view later?   This session requires a Tivo DVR, a wireless network in your home, and a computing system, and with those tools, and some downloaded software, a WiseGuy technical representative will present a session that will teach you how to transfer his recordings from his Tivo to his computer and then "burn" it to a DVD, so that you can watch your favorite show anytime.


Creating VCR tapes using your Tivo or any brand of DVR/PVR
If you don't have a DVD burner, or a home network, don't despair.  You can still transfer your Tivo recordings to a VCR tape. 
This session requires any brand of DVR/PVR or Tivo and a standard VCR player/recorder, and with those tools, a WiseGuy technical representative will configure your VCR and Tivo units and will teach the you how to transfer your recordings from your Tivo to a VCR tape, so that you can watch your favorite show anytime

A consulting offering designed to assist you in understanding the options available in Hi-Definition Television viewing. 
A WiseGuy technical representative will host a presentation that teaches you the jargon of HDTV, using terms like HD-Ready, HD-Compatible, LCD Display, Plasma screen, DLP, Rear-projection, etc.  The presentation will then outline the sheer volume of choices in HDTV hardware, and the hundreds of channel viewing options available today via cable and satellite.

Understanding Dolby Sound Systems

Just want someone you trust to talk to when you need assistance with technology?
For a flat annual fee,
a WiseGuy representative can assist you in basically anything related to computing or consumer electronics.  Quoting of this offering will be based on specific products currently installed in a computing system(s) or located on yous premises at the time the contract is signed by both parties.  A contract can also include future products to be purchased, but product type must be included in contract specifics, i.e. HDTV (and not specifically a Sony Model XYZ123, although if a specific model of a product type is known when contract is drawn, it can be included).  Hours of contract will be normal business hours, M-F 9AM - 5PM, and onsite visits scheduled as necessary as part of contract specifications.
